Project synopsis
The project “Incumbências” (Responsibilities) stems from the author's need to represent the loneliness and abandonment felt today, due to the difficulty experienced by her generation in dedicating themselves to building stable interpersonal relationships. The final goal is a 16x23cm, full-color book with about 100 pages.
The story tells the life of a character who lives alone on an island. Briefly going through her memories, we observe how the character deals with the abandonment of a past relationship which, taking the only boat there, left her stranded on the island. As time passes, the character develops relationships with friends who live off the island, until she realizes that she can no longer remain in this small space. She eventually discovers that the island already has the tools she needs to build what she needs to leave.
Although she is alone, when she is caught in a storm, it is the distant voices of those waiting for her outside the island that pull her along and support her with affection, eventually welcoming her and allowing her to continue her journey.
